Day 2 November 15

Day 2 of our Breaking Dawn Week started out very over cast and windy. It rained on us all day yesterday, after we got on I – 65 and misted once we hit Tennessee.

This morning it wind was still blowing and it looked like it's rained all night long. Are we in Forks??

We had a nice breakfast at the hotel, got the car loaded, check out and hit the road again.

We got here about 3 pm, did some grocery shopping and found the condo where Liz and Sally were waiting for us.

I was very impressed with the condo. All the comforts of home, sans my recliner, but I'll figure something out.

We had a wonderful Italian dish that Sally had brought with her along with some salad for dinner.

Then we settled down and watched the original Twilight movie and made our own little comments as we went along,

Now it's bed time and I think we're all pretty tired.

I've got a few pictures tonight, so with that, I'll close. I may not be able to include them with this and if not, I'll send the link for them tomorrow.

See ya'll tomorrow.

Day One Breaking Dawn Week

Well here we are our first night of our Breaking Dawn week mini vacation and we are in a Holiday Inn Express room in Knoxville TN. A thankfully uneventful trip thus far. No pictures today, just driving.

I met up with Judy in Pensacola, FL this morning and transferred my stuff – actually it looked kinda like I was moving in with her – from my car into her Van. Kissed my husband goodbye and off we drove in a cloud of dust, etc.

So here we are now in the beautiful State of Tennessee. The view has been breathtaking, and I'm sure there'll be so much more to see tomorrow.

We should arrive at our destination in Virginia tomorrow afternoon and we're looking forward to that!

I will try to have pictures for tomorrow night, but I ain't promising nutt'n!

Good night to all, and all, well you get the picture.

Having Issues

Now that I'm in the, ahem, older generation, I'm finding that the view those who are young enough to be my grandchildren are really snobs!

You may wonder just what has precipitated my ire, and I'll be happy to tell you. LOL. Myself, and 3 other very good friends of mine - who just happen to be Twilight Saga fans, and over 40, are planning a Breaking Dawn weekend - midnight show and all. It was announced on a fan sight at we all belong too and a comment came back that it was "weird".

Excuse me, but I'm actually pretty pissed ( and not used as the Brits would ) about the Twilight Saga so called base.

These youngsters seem to be of the opinion that those of us who've reach the ( so called ) Golden Years should be dead and have absolutely not ability to think of anything but from where our next enema is coming from.

The fact that I'm a fan of the Twilight Saga, or that I'm a converted Robsten believer, "they" seem to think I don't know anything about anything let alone have the ability to be a fan.

OR THAT

Even though I may not be able to stay awake for: midnight showing ( most of the time ),

Or that it takes me a very long time to climb stairs;

I have grey hair;

Have become twice the woman I used to be;

Have a better life through chemistry - my doctor's belief;

Have grand children...

That I should not have kind of emotional response to the charms of Dr Cullen, or his beautiful on screen family

OR that I think Kristen Stewart is the best actress to come down the Pike in a great long time - maybe since Jody Foster, or that

I could possible think that Jacob is HOT, or

that Rob Pattinson is not without certain allure.

PLEEEEALLLLZZE. Just where did this younger generation come from?? Where they hatched or birthed? Just how did that happen??

Just remember Karma can be a "B--ch" and that you'll always get back 10 times what you put out.

I'm wondering if the individual who made the comment is older than 14. If not, then there's more wiggle room, but that Individual and their ilk need to grown up!

OK. Stepping off the soak box.

Thanks for listening.

Why Hate?

I know there are a great many people out there who think they “hate” someone or some thing. I wonder if they really understand what it means to “hate”?

First of all, let's see what Webster has to say the work “hate” means:

Firstly, it is either used as a noun or verb.

Then the meaning of the word.

a. An intense hostility usually deriving from fear, anger or a sense of injury.
b. Extreme dislike or antipathy: Loathing

So, let's take the first set of definitions: Intense hostility usually deriving from fear, anger or a sense of injury. That sense of injury is another thing all together.

I personally feel that all hatred stems from fear and jealously.

Case in point. I have noticed that many young women and girls who are attracted to the actor Robert Pattinson, say they “hate” Kristen Stewart. Why is that? Could it be she has something they don't. Namely Robert Pattinson?

What has Ms Stewart done them those girls and women? Nothing. But they are jealous of the relationship between Pattinson and Stewart. Therefore they say they “hate” Ms Stewart. There is certainly nothing to fear from Ms Stewart; she has done nothing to any of these girls except remove from circulation a certain young man.

Perhaps these self same young women and girls should learn to call what they feel towards Ms Stewart what it really is, “jealously” pure and simple.

To claim hatred of a bit of over kill.

People today do not understand their own language. They don't seem to teach looking words up in the dictionary anymore, and mores the pity for that. There are so many incorrect word usages today it makes me shutter.

Charitable Donations

I spent the morning watching Hula and being bombarded with pleas to donate money to different groups who want to feed the World. That's nice. However, I was taught that charity should begin at home, meaning our own backyard.

All you have to do to find out that 1 out of 6 Americans hasn't enough to eat. Here we are living in a country where "fat" has become a problem. How is it possible that there is so much hunger in this country.

There are so many groups out there who want your money to save the children, etc. Have you ever wondered just how much of the money actually goes to "the children"? Do some research. I was shocked. Below are a group of websites that give the low down on IRS regonized charities. Please note, however, that groups that are considered "religious" such as The Salvation Army are not covered. They are listed on several other sites and it is shocking.

Great advise for those who want to donate:

Another great article for those wondering about donating money to charity:

Good video explaining much about donations:

Lastly, but probably the best information Guidestar.com:
http://www2.guidestar.org/rxg/products/GuideStar-premium.aspx?gclid=COq-5q6W1qgCFYTr7QodwA_diQ

Also, be sure and check out the alpha listings on Charity Navigator - links above. I'm sure your time will be well spent.

I had my eyes opened many years ago, back in the stone age, when I was a member of the United States Marine Corps. There was a death in the family and the only way to get emergency leave was to go The American Red Cross. Now, I'm sure things have changed since those stone age days, but I had to pay money, and more than I could afford ( only had a privates pay to live on ) for them to do it for me. Some charity, right. Also, my Uncle Bill was in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was separated from his unit. He was cold, had hypothermia actually, and finally after a long struggle found a Red Cross unit serving coffee and doughnuts - BUT you had to pay for them. Some Charity huh? Well I see from the ratings, things have changed a little. But you get my drift, right?

I've heard other horror stories about the abusiveness of charities. Please before you get sucked in, do research on who's actually getting the money. And, if it's advertised on television, you have to know that alone cost tons of money.

Do I donate to charity. I sure do. It's a non profit called Individual and Family Support. I am also on the council for the region and also the regional council - but then I have the time ( usually ) to spend going to the meetings, and discussing how the raised funds will be spent and signing check requests for those funds. I also donate a sum each Thanksgiving and Christmas for food stuffs as well as help collect and distribute collected food stuffs. I know exactly where my money goes.

Please, do the same. If you find you really have the desire to give your hard earned money to charity, do so, but please find out all you can before you do so. Find some charity in your own part of the World and make it yours and you'll be happier seeing where it all goes, and if you're luck, first hand who gets it. Don't be suckered into a scam and have your money wasted.

Robert Pattinson shoots down studio fabrication

This remark from Robert Pattinson has moved this young man's stock with me way up. Plus the fact it's adding more to the validy of relation ship between Kristen Stewart and himself.

This extract from an interview recently given while Rpatz was traveling with the Water for Elephants promotional tour.

The interviewer asked if the romance bewteen the two TwiHeartThrobs was a ploy the Studio came up with in order to sell more tickets and interest in the franchise.

"Rob shoots down the theory that the relationship is a studio fabrication.
“No. Oh no. I’d love it if they tried. If the studio tried to get involved with my personal life, I could start messing around with them in return…No. There’s nothing nefarious going on, I just don’t like people taking my picture. It’s not nice when your life becomes someone else’s news.”

This next is a loose version of an interview given in Germany when Robert was asked if he were in love and was his lady love with him, he replied ( something like this as I don't have that interview avaliable right now ) "Yes I am and no, she's not with me but back in Los Angeles". I thought BINGO!!

I have just now remembered an interveiw Kristen Stewart gave a while back regarding if the couple would every let the World at Large know if Robsten existed. The link is below.

Why the Fascination?

Just a short one today, but I really want to know to gain more perspective

Someone please tell me why there is so much fascination with England and it's Royalty here in the USA?

Even though we were not a fully united people, we joined together to fight for our freedom from Great Britain.

Now, it seems that this country is totally in love with England and it's Royalty. Why??

It's become one of my pet peeves, to say the least. My ancestors fought and died to be free of the rule of English ways and law. Why on Earth would we want to become a satellite of England now. Why would we want to be like Europe any anyway? After all, it was American ways, that converted many in Europe to be like us!

Just try reading any of the Twitter messages, or any of thing else on the web today.

Please some one explain to me why the fascination?

The Ability to be Loved

I belong to several fan groups and have an unusual of view that most, ehm, Mature individuals don't get to see. Young people are very lonesome. They feel so alone and many without any hope in their hearts for anything different in the future of their personal lives.

I'm not sure that this doesn't come from the fact that these younger generations ( all the way from 14 to 30+ ) haven't grown up in an environment where The Government is supposed to take care of everything and that they are entitled to the Government to take care of them.

Education seems to mean nothing any longer. There was a time that the more education you had, the greater the chances of going into a profession where you would get you slice of the American Dream. That "dream" longer exist.

It doesn't matter what profession you go into.

Most of the young people I've come into contact with want be loved, desperately, but they don't seem to love themselves.

Why is this? There is so much self help material "out there", they shouldn't have any problems finding a source that could help them come to realize that they must love themselves first, then, someone else will be able to love them too!

I've asked them all why they think they won't find someone else love them. It was surprising the answer I got the most. They aren't sure what "love" is, or how to learn to love themselves.

It's broken my heart that so many of the teens I've come to be friends with have no idea how to go about loving themselves. They ask me right off if that's not being selfish.

My answer to them is to take their key from Mother Nature.

The seed is dried out, but a spark of life is within it and when put into the soil, it has to fight for every drop of water and for every ray of light so that magic that occurs can take place. It has to be greedy and suck up as much of these as possible, so it can burst forth and grow and can fulfil it's reason for living...sharing itself.

So it is also with humans. We must grown and take in everything that is necessary for grown and personal fulfillment before they can share themselves with others.

Once we find our place in the Sun, then others can see us for what marvelous creatures we are, can share others, can allow ourselves to be loved.

Robsten Lives

OK. I surrender. Robsten is real. Not a studio ploy to sell tickets, though I believe that they do make use of it.

I have to surrender when hard assed Gossipsters such as Ted Casablanca and Lainey of Lainey Gossips are convinced, why should I hold out?

This young couple is unlike any other Hollywood couple that I can remember. Usually Hollywood couples want the publicity and are real camera whores every chance they get. Not these two remarkable young people. I take my hats off to them.

Now with my surrender, they, Robsten, has a very large responsibility to me, and those others who have had the faith right along. They must make a go of it!

I don't honestly care if they get married, though I would not be adverse to it, and would probably be very happy for them, and I would light candles for their marriage to be a long and happy, or at least compatible one.

These two might have a much better chance of making it in a marriage than most Hollywood couples. Since they've managed to withstand so many of the slings and arrows of life in Tinsel Town.

I don't know what I'm going to blog about now. Sigh. Being a pseudo doubter of the couple was fodder for some of my musing.

Huntsman Difficulties

I have been wondering why more Fan sites for Kristen Stewart and the original Twilight movies have not picked up on the fact that the movie Snow White and the Huntsman is having such difficulty finding a "huntsman"?

Perhaps they think it's something private and not good advertising for the film?

Granted that could be a factor, but I'm more inclined to think that it's because Hollywood is still a "Man's World" that women are just allowed to play a tiny part of as a sex objects. Sure over the past 5 to 10 years women have made big strides in the industry ,( they're allowed to be killers and beat up on men, but the roles they can get their acting chops into are very hard to find ), but Universals difficulty in finding the Huntsman for Snow White is really beginning to bother me!

First Vigo Mortensen was originally signed onto be the Huntsman, then backed out. Now, I did read there were scheduling conflicts, but these conflicts only seem to have surfaced after Kristen Stewart signed onto the project.

Next the roll was offered to Hugh Jackman, who turned it down for the same reason as Vigo Mortensen did.

Now I'm reading that Kristen Stewart has agreed to slash her fee - take less money - to get the project off the ground. http://www.slashfilm.com/joel-edgarton-star-bourne-legacy-snow-white-huntsman/

My thinking is that neither of the men asked so far to play the huntsman ego's could tolerate the fact that they would be overshadowed by women!

Think about it.

You have Kristen Stewart who has a fan base that surprised Hollywood ( case in point WFE premier in NYC and the fans that were waiting for Kristen to show up to support her reported BF Robert Pattinson even though there was not official statement that KS would be there - now that's a fan base ) and Charlize Theron http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlize_Theron who is a power house by herself and a large fan base to boot.

It's my feeling that Hollywood males ego's can't take the fact that women's name attached to the project will over shadow themselves, or that those same women's name could attract a larger pay check.

Was that Kiss staged?

I know everyone is beaming about how Kstew flew to NCY to support Rpatz at the WFE premiere and that it's proof that Robsten lives, but I say, still, that I feel it's at least in part, a product of the studio. Their love story mirrors the Twilight films somewhat. Not the marauding vampires of course, unless you count the paparazzi as vampires, but the actual "love affair". They are a charming looking couple, and they do look at each other adoringly, but they are actors right?Forgive me, but I just find it hard to believe. I'd LOVE for it to be true. I'd LOVE to believe that there is really that much of a chance for romance in the World. OK. So we hear from all these "inside sources", saying how much in love they or, or they are on the outs, or blah blah blah, but these quotes and sources are only mentioned by mags of less than reputable character. There's only two that I have seen be consistently correct in what they've reported and that's Ted Casablanca and Lanie Gossips. Ted says they are, and he's judging from the reports that the couple is living together in a hotel. Laniey seems to have a really good inside source that's not led anyone astray as yet, and even she seems to think that "The Kiss" after the WFE party was staged to promote their own film coming up.That Kiss between the couple was so quick and looked staged to me. Rpatz's grined his grin he gets when he's doing something he knows will embarrass Kstew, that's not true affection. The new Twilight Saga movie isn't even due to open until close to the end of this year and in Hollywood Box Office, that's a looooooooong time. They need to keep the Buzz going. Mark my words, there will be a great many more Robsten sightings of PDA and pictures that make it on to the Internet that the Producers of the films are going to be outraged about. All the outrage over the love scenes was worth a great deal in advertising for the movie. In all honestly I hope I'm proved wrong. I really and truly would love to believe they are really in love. Please don't hate me for feeling this way. It's what my Life experience has shown me. In truth only time will really tell if Robsten is True Love.

Life? After Twilight Saga

Life? After Twilight Saga?

Is there Life after the Twilight Saga comes to a total end in 2012? Well, one doesn't live to reach my age with developing some good coping skills. To wit, I am now the proud owner of “The Panic Room”, “The Messengers”, “Speak”, “The Cake Eaters”, “Welcome to the Riley” and “Adventure land” is back ordered for some reason. I know Out of the Wilderness is supposed be one of Kristen's best, but I just can't get through the rest of it. Sigh

There must be a couple other movies, oh yeah, The Yellow Handkerchief..

Well, Water for Elephants is going to be out in a couple of days and On the Road follows this summer, then Cosmopolis will start filming soon, and hopefully Snow White will find her Huntsman soon and they can get that moving.

Then in November BD1 will be released and I'll have that DVD to wear out until the final part of BD will come out and I can cheer Bella Wonder Woman the Vampire!

Oh yes, Robsten walks the Red Carpet for each other with every new movie. Then I'd like to see Robsten do another movie together, after they take a very well deserved vacation together on some South Seas Island they they buy together! Can I dream or what!!!

In short, I have no idea what I'll do to replace my obsession with Twilight. I keep hoping someone will come up with a good idea for me?

Twlight's not just for the young

I recently made a new Friend who said she loved the fact that I was a grandmother and I didn't seem to care or think that the Twilight Saga was just for the young! Hell no! Let's face it. Carlise is 300 something. Edward is 100+, so, need I say more? Twilight seems to have the ability to speak to the Romance of the Soul. I honestly didn't think I had any romance in my soul. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that I did. My daughter keeps asking me "who are you and what have you done with my mother". I must have short changed her growing up. Sigh. Sorry Darl'n. I didn't mean to. With the Life Experiences I'd had to work with, what can I tell you, romance wasn't much a part of it. I was too busy trying to keep food on the table and a roof over our heads. So the result is at this mature age I've discovered I have some romance in my soul due to a series of books called The Twilight Saga. You'd think my daughter would be happy for me wouldn't you. Do I get greeted with that's wonderful Mom?? No, I get, OMFG! My mother is a TwiMom! You're too old for this Mom. So, I smiled at her, and went right out and bought all the books for my eldest grand daughter to read. She's only 10 right now, but we talk about Twilight and all the rest of them. She's got quite a head on her shoulders and she seems to understand what they are saying, even though she's not have any experience to go along with it, yet. I like the message that this series of books give and if she takes them to heart, more's the better Ahh, revenge is sweet! Any way ... it's never too late to develop some romance in your soul and I have the Twilight Saga to thank for that. Edward is such a romantic character and he's soooooooooooo, well, you ladies know what I mean. Ooo, I can just feel my blood pressure starting to rise now. ( Fanning myself ) So, all you young nubile youngsters can just go fish. I shall continue to enjoy the books and the movies and all that goes along with them. I have never been so obsessed with anything like this in my entire life! And it is marvelous. I love it and am loving it. I hope you "youngsters" get as much from this series as we "old farts" seem to be.

I got a little pissed this morning...

I had a little time this morning, so I did a little extra roaming around the internet looking for something I might have missed about Kstew ( it could happen ) and ran across this ( Link to article from SciFi Mifia ) http://scifimafia.com/2011/03/snow-white-and-the-huntsman-universal-couldnt-pay-mortensen-enough-to-work-with-stewart/ Frankly I got a little pissed when I read the header of the article. It seemed to infer from the way it was worded, that Vigo Mortensen didn't want to work with Kristen Stewart and the studio couldn't pay him enough to do it. What the article actually says is he wanted 8 million and the studio said no. So he goes to the next on his list of talks to play the heavy in the current remake of Superman and also looses that roll. Now I could be the nice guy and say, “Gee! I'm so sorry”, but I'm not. He would have been perfect for the roll ( from what I've read about the part ) but he choose to ask for such a high salary the studio says no. His loss. Even better now the roll has been offered to Huge Jackman, who'll work just as well, if not better. What concerns me the most is that the spot light will once again be deflected from Kstew in favor of her male co-star. Perhaps this doesn't bother her, but it does me. Kristen Stewart has enough acting abilities that she could carry just about any script Hollywood could come up with on her own, without some hunky male opposite her. Somebody, please come up with a script that doesn't require a love interest of any kind. Maybe one about sisters, or family! Anything that wouldn't take the stage center away from our Kstew!

Dawn a Wrap, how about Robsten

Now that the last scenes of both parts of Breaking Dawn have been wrapped – except for some re-shoots – and all the actors go on with other jobs, what will become of Robsten? Will that duo also become a “wrap”? The true test of any relationship is it's ability to deal with adversity, and long distant romances are difficult at best. Robert has already stated many times that he feels homeless and I think he'd love to have a place he could go back to after the movie shoots are done. Kristen, I don't know about her – she's stated several times that she's only 19 or only 20 and has a great many things she'd like to accomplish. I keep thinking that these two beautiful young people have so many basic differences, but then depending upon the individuals up bringing will have a great deal to do with what, if any, future the couple can have. I keep hoping that they'll be able to over come the odds of Hollywood Life and make a go of it, but I suspect that it ain't that easy, though the pair don't seem to have much desire for a great deal of the material items most young people go for when they have oodles of money to burn. I'm very hopeful for the couple that things will work out for them, but I can't help but feel that Robsten is going to be a wrap also. Sorry, but that's just what I'm feeling. A year or so ago Kristen was asked if the public would ever know if they were a real couple or not and she said something along the lines that yeah, the World would know when the Saga was complete. I hope that's still going to be the case. So, those of us who've been so involved with the Twilight Saga and Robsten, what will we do now that all the movies are made. In November BD Pt 1 will be released and the year after that BD Pt 2 – then what? Well, I for one shall continue to follow Kstew, and hopefully Rpatz as well, though I have to admit since she's proven to be the better actor – so far at any rate – I'll be monitoring her career more. Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to be watching the two of them together. What are your thoughts?

Happy 21st Birthday Kristen!

Today is, as everyone here is most aware, Kristen Stewart's 21st birthday. Most people my age get a wistful look in their eyes and wish to be 21 again. Not I. I have owned everything I've done. Every decision I've made. Every mistake I've lived. Every person I've loved, and those I've not cared for so much, are mine and no one else. Every time we make a decision it effects everyone around us. Each and every mistake we make effects everyone who loves us. Each decision is a cross roads of Life and should never be taken without some small consideration of the fall out of these decisions. We should always be willing to bare the brunt of any fall out. Carry the burdens that will come of them. There are decisions that I made that were wrong, but they were mine and I've tried to accept what happened fully. When I cross over to that great “Unknown” I know I'll face my Creator with head upheld and accept what ever the decision will be. It is my sincerest wish that Kristen will have as few regrets of her life as I've had when she reaches, and hopefully surpasses my 69 years. I wish her as full a life as I've had. Hopefully, it's fuller as she has the resources to travel around the World many times and to help those less fortunate then herself. She's already expressed a desire to do the latter, and I hope she's able to carry this forward. I do envy her just starting out on this wondrous Life with so much style of her own and flare for being who she is. Please, continue to do so. Don't let the Turkey's of Life get you down! Happy Birthday Kristen. You GO girl!

What was the draw that got you going with the Twilight Saga?? Let's take them book by book... New Moon: Honestly, it was my God Son who got me to read my first book, New Moon, and I really didn't like it. Too much whining for my tastes. You have a problem, you deal and move on. A man doesn't want me, his problem, not mine, seriously. The door works both ways. Of course I'd never believed in “true love, undying” - too practical for that belief. Then, my Godson nagged me into reading Twilight. Twilight: I was hooked. I understood more where it all came from. I discovered Midnight Sun, and it all made total sense of where Edward was coming from. I fell totally and head over heels with the Edward character. I understood him, at least. Edward's character seemed to be an arrogant jerk in Twilight and in New Moon, just dumb and arrogant. I still had problems with Bella, however. How could a 17 year old be so certain about what she wanted. She seemed so needy to me. I would have shook her and told her to move on and get over it if she were a real person and I knew her. ( I feel Twilight and Midnight Sun should have been done in the same manner as Breaking Dawn with the Book 1,2,3... concept ) Eclipse then focused on Edwards fear of the influence Jacob was having on Bella, and jealousy growing within Edward making him more human. (Have you ever noticed that the non human characters we are all most attracted to, are those who show human traits?) Also, there were certain very romantic scenes that got my long dead libido working again! Jacob is now the one I wanted to shake because he wouldn't believe Bella and kept trying to sell himself to her more. Get over it Dude! She doesn't want you for anything more than a friend. It's possible. Can't deal, go away. Then, Breaking Dawn and at last Bella and Edward are going to marry and live happily ever after – “yeah right” I thought. Some very happy moments then the problems begin. Bella finds she is pregnant with a vampire's baby. OMG. The awful pregnancy and the brutal delivery, and then the happily ever after? NOT. Impending, death and destruction...and all that fun stuff. Finally Bella comes into her own and I like it! Now that's my kind of woman. You want to hurt my family, NO WAY – PREPARE TO DIE. All she needed to be Wonder Woman was the golden bracelets! You go Girlfriend!! I had discovered a rich new addition to the Vampire world. Prior to this series we have only the brutal blood thirsty world of Dracula and Interview with a Vampire series. Vampires sparkle in the Sun instead of bursting into flames. Their bodies are very hard and stone like. No staking this vampire world. Rip'em apart and burn the pieces. Yes, very different. Ms. Meyer is to congratulated for her imagination usage. The movie version of Bella is one that I like much better because of the stronger character – not so needy. So, tell me. What your thoughts are.

PG 13 possible?

Much speculation has been put forth as to weather Breaking Dawn, Parts 1 and 2 will be able to maintain their PG 13 rating. That rating is below so you can see what it says, officially, and judge for yourself. "PG-13 — Parents Strongly Cautioned. Some Material May Be Inappropriate For Children Under 13. A PG-13 rating is a sterner warning by the Rating Board to parents to determine whether their children under age 13 should view the motion picture, as some material might not be suited for them. A PG-13 motion picture may go beyond the PG rating in theme, violence, nudity, sensuality, language, adult activities or other elements, but does not reach the restricted R category. The theme of the motion picture by itself will not result in a rating greater than PG-13, although depictions of activities related to a mature theme may result in a restricted rating for the motion picture. Any drug use will initially require at least a PG-13 rating. More than brief nudity will require at least a PG-13 rating, but such nudity in a PG-13 rated motion picture generally will not be sexually oriented. There may be depictions of violence in a PG-13 movie, but generally not both realistic and extreme or persistent violence. A motion picture’s single use of one of the harsher sexually-derived words, though only as an expletive, initially requires at least a PG-13 rating. More than one such expletive requires an R rating, as must even one of those words used in a sexual context. The Rating Board nevertheless may rate such a motion picture PG-13 if, based on a special vote by a two-thirds majority, the Raters feel that most American parents would believe that a PG-13 rating is appropriate because of the context or manner in which the words are used or because the use of those words in the motion picture is inconspicuous.R — Restricted. Children Under 17 Require Accompanying Parent or Adult Guardian. An R-rated motion picture, in the view of the Rating Board, contains some adult material. An R-rated motion picture may include adult themes, adult activity, hard language, intense or persistent violence, sexually-oriented nudity, drug abuse or other elements, so that parents are counseled to take this rating very seriously. Children under 17 are not allowed to attend R-rated motion pictures unaccompanied by a parent or adult guardian. Parents are strongly urged to find out more about R-rated motion pictures in determining their suitability for their children. Generally, it is not appropriate for parents to bring their young children with them to R-rated motion pictures.NC-17 — No One 17 and Under Admitted. An NC-17 rated motion picture is one that, in the view of the Rating Board, most parents would consider patently too adult for their children 17 and under. No children will be admitted. NC-17 does not mean "obscene" or "pornographic" in the common or legal meaning of those words, and should not be construed as a negative judgment in any sense. The rating simply signals that the content is appropriate only for an adult audience. An NC-17 rating can be based on violence, sex, aberrational behavior, drug abuse or any other element that most parents would consider too strong and therefore off-limits for viewing by their children" ( below is the complete moving rating explanations ) With this quote, let me ask those of you who saw the pirated video of Breaking Dawns honeymoon couple, ( I did not see it myself - I seem to miss all the good stuff) but an on line friend told me that seeing it made her feel the need to go take a shower so she could cool down. This young woman is an adult in her 30's as well as married with children. So, if it had that effect upon her, and probably every other human on the planet who actually saw that video, how could it possible pass the censors for the PG 13 rating the studio wants? Even if you didn't see the video, the pictures that were also "released" were very titillating. At lease they were to this ole woman! It is still my opinion that Summit Entertainment accidentally on purpose did it for the advertising it would bring. Everyone who's read the books will be going to see both parts of Breaking Dawn, and with the release of those pictures and that video, those who hadn't read the books will too. Brilliant advertising ploy! My thinking is that, why not release an adult version of this film, as well as all the other movies of the Saga already released? I know I would have loved to been able to find a set of Twilight's DVD with the deleted scene of Edward loosing it and attacking Bella and dragging her off. There are many other deleted scenes that would make the video's better as far as following the books that would make it better for we "adults". http://www.mpaa.org/ratings/what-each-rating-means

Much Todo About Nothing?

All of the recent flap over the leaked Breaking Dawn pictures is really, IMHO, so much smoke and mirrors. I think it's a grab for publicity.

OK. If, the producers are really upset by this “leak” I ask why?? The more publicity, the better.

The only people that seeing those pictures destroy their movie experience would be those who hadn't read the books, or who have no imagination for those who have read them, and if they have no imagination what could have been the draw for them???

I generally don't think screen plays do enough anyway, but then if I had my way they'd take the books entire text to make the movie! If they could have added another hour to Twilight it would have been a much better movie! LOL. But then the profits on the film would not have been near as much. I would have liked all the deleted scenes included, even the one of Edward attacking Bella, but that would have changed the rating from PG 13.

But, sadly, I do not determine the way films are made.

Now, for another matter that's beginning to bother me.

Is Robsten a product of the studio or, are they really a couple who are really in love??

I want desperately to believe in Robsten, but I have this nagging fear that it's a studio ploy to keep the interest in the Saga to the fore?

If it is a studio ploy, it will destroy the romantic bones I discovered I had that I never knew they were there in the first place!!! No, I'm serious. I've lived all these years thinking I was not a “Romantic” and only sensible and serious thinker – that romantics were dumb and stupid! My own daughter actually asked me when I confessed I was a TwiGrandma, “Who are you, and what have you done with my mother?!” She saw me go through a couple of marriages so she thought she knew her mother.

So what I am going to do if it's all a studio plot? I don't know for sure because I want to believe, but I'm sure it'll be ugly!! ( giggles )

I miss seeing her face

Where is Kristen Stewart? I miss seeing her face. There doesn't seem to be anyone interested in Kristen? The last I heard of her was when she was chosen to be in Snow White and the Huntsman. Is Kristen being the dutiful girlfriend and stepping back for Robert? Will she will be on Roberts' arm in New York for the premier of Water for Elephants??? I hope so. She's so beautiful and he's so handsome they are stunning together. Sorry ya'll, but I think a really great actress like Kristen Stewart shouldn't lurk in the background. However if that's her choice and she's doing it for love, I guess I could try to understand. With her acting chops, she could be fielding offers left and right. I understand what a difficult time Kristen has with interviews. She could, however, over come that with coaching, if she wanted to. Perhaps Kristen loves Robert very much and is willing to step back and let Robert do the shinning since he handles interviews much better. However, he still hasn't proven to me he can really play anything but a tortured soul. ( Please fans don't shoot me or burn me at the stake ) I miss Kriss. I miss Kris.

MTV Interview with Robert Pattinson tonight

Yes, tonight I have a link to the live interview:

Hunger Games vs Twilight Saga

Now that it's positive that the Suzanne Collins Trilogy, The Hunger Games, is going to be made into a movie, the "buzz" seems to be comparing of them with Stephenie Meyer's, the Twilight Saga.

My first question is, have they even read them?

They both have a main female character who have 2 male characters in love with them. IMHO, the comparison stops there. For instance, both male characters in Twilight Saga are mythological in nature; one is a Vampire and the other is a Shape Shifter/ Werewolf. The male characters in The Hunger Games are human.

In the Twilight Saga the lead female character in love with the Vampire and wants to be "just friends" with the Shape shifter/Werewolf and loves them both deeply but differently but wants to become a Vegetarian Vampire like her Love and still be able to spend time with the Shape shifter. Confusion, to a point happens, but eventually "eternal and true love" wins out and she marries her vampire and goes off on their honeymoon. She then manages to become pregnant, boggles the mind - but wait, it's a fantasy! But they do live happily every after, eventually but only after they and the entire Vegetarian Vampire Cullen Clan are involved in a potential desperate fight for their lives.

In the Hunger Games, only two of the main characters are in a desperate fight for their lives when they are thrown into an arena ( sounds very much like the gladiator fights of Ancient Rome ) and we find out that the male is and always had been in love with the female character and she just doesn't know what to think about it. She feels very deeply for the second male lead, but he's at "home" and confusion happens within her consciousness. Eventually the two win the Games and are returned to their home, only to be thrown into more confusing circumstances in the next two books, and the two combatants eventually find a peace of sorts. No real "happily ever afters".

I'm sure there will be more Hunger Games books to come, and maybe more Twilight spin offs to come - we fans sure hope so.

I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on this latest "Buzz".

Twilight vs Red Riding Hood

I have been reading how Red Ridding Hood and The Twilight Saga compare. Huh??? Sure Twilight was directed by Ms. Hardwick as well as Red Ridding Hood, and sure there was one female lead ( in each ) and two male leads ( in each ) that were in love with the girl - but that's where ( IMHO ) the similarities end!

I have to say too, that (IMHO) the script for Red was lacking and the performances reflected it. The script for Twilight, and the rest of the Saga, has been strong and told the story as best as possible for the amount that has to go into making a movie. Sure I would have loved to see more of the book, but there's only so much time that can be allowed.

Twilight was cast with retaliative unknowns - even Kstew wasn't that well known at the time. To be honest, Billy Burke was the only name I recognized, but then I've been watching his career for a while now. Robert Pattinson, who?? Then I looked for him in Harry Potter, and did a search through Net Flicks and watched those. I was disappointed in those. (Please don't stone me!) BUT you put those two young people together and Oh My!!! I had to break out the fan.

The cast for Red Riding Hood are fairly known in quantity. Amanda Seyfried leading it and my favorite dad, Billy Burke. Gary Oldman as the very bad heavy, was very good as usual ( IMHO )

And speaking of Billy Burke, his performance was flat, and he don't do flat! What happened??? We know Ms. Hardwick can direct better than that, and we certainly know BB can do much much much better than that. It had to be the script! Right????

Amanda Seyfried's performance was flat. She's been brilliant in everything else I've seen her in. She's even done a series for HOB with great performances. Had to be bad script.

The only really good thing I can say about Red Riding Hood is the cinematography was glorious!

So, I can't see much that is up for similarities between the two.

There is one major theme running through the Twilight Saga that has always bothered me and that's someone "belonging" to another Individual. Isn't that being a slave? Now I can see belonging together, but belonging to another just bothers me.

Two young wise old souls

My respect for both Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson is up 100%. Both of these youngsters have withstood very nasty treatment from Hollywood and are still trucking. You go Robsten. These two are handling it much better than some of those couples with similar circumstances.

Example: Robert has become a World Wide sex symbol with thousands of screaming teen-age girls, some boys and more mature ladies screaming themselves silly and offering him "everything" and what does he do? Smile and sign autographs and have body guards to ward the enthusiastic fans. Has he even yelled at the pushy photogs?? I think this young man had some great parents.

Example: Kristen has lived in Los Angeles all her life and in the Valley too boot. She seems to be dealing with all the BS that goes on in LA. She doesn't seemed to have let the fame and all that money she making now go to her head, and now that she can pick and choose her next gigs, what does she pick? When she could be jet setting all over the world what does she do?? Does she tell the rest of the female population that she is Robert's girlfriend to draw attention to herself?? She says her relationships are too important to talk about.

I rest my case.

They may be young in years, but are showing this Granny that they are wise old souls.

I am frankly very tired of seeing Justin B's face, everywhere! Yes, he's cute, but come on!

Twilight Saga's couple. I miss reading about them and knowing that Love is still in the Air. I'm sure they are happier but I'd really like to get my kick with Robsten! Come on Love Birds, share the happiness!

Just got back from Houston and helping my 4 year old grandson celebrate this 4th birthday. I really love my grand children, but I really love their mother more. Guess that's what happens when you only have the one child. You put everything into them. Sigh.

Not much more going on in Granny's World - other than trying to keep warm. What the hell happened to Global Warming??? Say a cartoon this morning with The Groundhog, catching a flight to the Caribbean! Does he know something I don't!

Respects

I have to admit now that I've gained a great deal of respect for KStew. I have managed to watch most of the movies she's made - I was shocked to discover that at only 20 years of age, she'd made 2o movies. Most of them Indy projects, by her design - I've read. While I must admit that many Indy films leave me scratching my head wondering just what the hell I've just seen, so far, KStew has shined.

I really like the fact that Kristen has seen fit to keep her mouth shut about her personal life. That within it's self speaks volumes as to the personality of this young lady. I like that she's comfortable enough within herself to not feel the need to cave into convention. If you can't handle the consequences of your actions, then you need to think about it before you do it. KStew seems to be able to handle them quite well.

You go Girl ( guess that really dates this no lady ). I'm so looking forward to seeing more of your work as soon as I can lay hands on it.

Like many people, I LOVE movies. As a result I "follow" many actors.

So when I confessed my addiction to The Twilight Saga to my daughter, she was totally dismayed.

Now I'm not obsessed as much these days with individual actors as I have become to a pair of them that are currently the leads in The Twilight Saga.

Now, before you go into a tail spin, please hear me out. As far as my knowledge of these youngsters ( and I can call them that because I am decidedly not, a youngster ) was very limited. Of the pair, I vaguely remember Robert Pattinson and that was from the Harry Potter Series - of course. I thought him "cute". I still think of him as only "cute"

It wasn't until The Twilight Saga I became aware of Kristen Stewart. Thus far, I feel Kristen has demonstrated great acting skills, though she doesn't have much presence in interviews - needs to learn better ways of speaking.

I haven't seen too much else done by Robert other than Remember Me - which I felt mediocre and Little Ashes, which was just bad, and those two only after I saw him in Twilight. So I have begun to watch for movies in which these two "youngsters" have been a part of.

Separately - IMHO - they or OK, but together, OMG. These two act as though they are "in love". They have wonderful chemistry and I want MORE, and I want to believe it's real!! They make this ole woman feel alive again in the romance department.

The only other acting pair I remember having such an impact on me was Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton - though IMHO neither of that pair could act.

I wish both Kristen and Robert great success individually as well as romantically and I hope they can do it together.

It's been my personal hope that the two would see fit to actually get married while making New Dawn.

That would be great advertising for the series, but do understand their reluctance for not wanting their personal lives made public knowledge. Sorry you two, but you've more or less become public property by your rolls. You'll just have to bare with us. I find myself at 70 scanning the net for new photos or sightings of this couple, other than those that involve the Twilight Saga - of course I search for those too.

Well all for this, for today. Any thoughts?
